This project explores the intersection of AI music generation and specific genre transformations, focusing on creating Drill remixes of existing songs from various genres.

Technical Details

The system consists of several components:

1. Source Separation: Using Demucs to separate the original track into stems (vocals, drums, bass, other)

2. Beat Analysis and Reconstruction: Custom algorithm to analyze the original tempo and structure, then generate a new Drill beat pattern that aligns with the original

3. Vocal Processing: Applying appropriate effects chain (autotune, delay, reverb) to match Drill aesthetics

4. Style Transfer: Neural network trained on Drill productions to transform melodic elements while preserving harmonic content

The most challenging aspect was maintaining musical coherence when transforming between drastically different genres (e.g., classical to Drill).

Examples and Reception

The project gained significant attention when a remix of Beethoven's 5th Symphony went viral on TikTok, accumulating over 2 million views. Music critics noted how the system managed to preserve the emotional intensity of the original while completely transforming the sonic palette.
